Mac’s Moment

“I wish someone had told me when he was born: ‘Look what’s going to happen.’”

Mac was born 3 months premature and faced developmental delays from an early age. Sports became his pathway to learning—tracking scores helped him strengthen his math skills, while reading University of Louisville game coverage in the newspaper improved his literacy. His journey continued through involvement in Special Olympics Unified Sports®, where he gained confidence, connection, and continued growth. Today, Mac has graduated from school and works independently, a testament to his determination and progress.
