Learn Unified: Whole School Engagement
Whole School Engagement is one of three components of a Unified Champion School when awareness and education activities that promote inclusion and reach the majority of a school’s population. The ways that are shown include, Spread the Word, Fans in the Stands, and Polar Plunge.
“The main idea of the video was to show whole-school engagement. Special Olympics helps include students with intellectual disabilities and how to make them feel apart of the school. I think it ties in with inclusion because the video shows how schools do the spread the word campaign and how at pep rallies everyone is engaged and no one is left out. My favorite part of the video was seeing everyone participate in a polar plunge. You could see how much fun everyone was having it was a very touching.” —Tajha Ilerant, US Youth Ambassador
